Snow Forecast: 2″ – 4″ Expected Friday Night into Saturday Morning in the DMV Area
Get ready for another round of snow in the DMV area as a quick-moving clipper system is expected to bring 2″ – 4″ of snow Friday night into early Saturday morning. The Winter Storm Watch has been expanded to include Montgomery County and Loudoun County, while a Winter Weather Advisory is in place for Metro D.C. and areas south and east.
Despite clippers typically not producing a lot of snow due to limited moisture, heavy snow is expected overnight Friday for a few hours before tapering off by 7 a.m. Saturday. The WUSA9 Weather Watch Alert team is forecasting widespread snow totals with some areas possibly seeing up to 6″ of snow.
Roads are expected to become slick, so be cautious if you’re out late Friday night or early Saturday morning. By Saturday afternoon, skies will clear up and temperatures will climb above freezing, causing any remaining snow to melt quickly.
