Monumental Sports Network to Broadcast Stanley Pup Program Featuring Canine Competition

Monumental Sports Network has announced an exciting new program that is sure to capture the hearts of hockey fans and dog lovers alike. Stanley Pup, a 90-minute program featuring friendly canine competition, will premiere on Friday, June 14 at 7 PM ET. Produced by Monumental Sports & Entertainment in partnership with Michael Levitt Productions and NHL Productions, Stanley Pup is a first-of-its-kind presentation that promises to be a ruff and tumble battle where East meets West, kenalties lead to pawer plays, and sticks are for chewing.

The program features adoptable dogs from nonprofit organization Petco Love, representing the 16 teams that qualified for the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Viewers will see adorable pups like Alex Ofetchkin from Wolf Trap Animal Rescue, who will be representing the Washington Capitals. In addition to the canine competitors, familiar faces from the Washington Capitals, including defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk and forward Tom Wilson, will make appearances to introduce dogs available for adoption and provide intermission interviews supporting local pet adoption.

Celebrity dog lovers Kristin Chenoweth, Mickey Guyton, Miranda Lambert, Heather McMahan, Lisa Vanderpump, and Trisha Yearwood will also make appearances in the program. Stanley Pup premiered nationally on NHL Network and ESPN+ on June 7 for U.S. fans and on Sportsnet on June 8 for Canadian fans.

Fans can catch the broadcast of Stanley Pup on Monumental Sports Network on Friday night and on subsequent airings. The program will be available on linear TV and via Monumental’s digital streaming platform within the network’s footprint. For fans without a Pay TV subscription, Monumental Sports Network offers direct-to-consumer subscription memberships for access to live and on-demand programming.

The Washington Capitals and the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation have a history of supporting animal-related causes in the community. From hosting Caps Canines Puppy Playoffs to partnering with America’s VetDogs to raise service dogs, the Capitals are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of animals. The team’s Caps Canines Club, presented by PEDIGREE, invites pet owners to register their dogs for exclusive pet merchandise, events, and special offers.

With the premiere of Stanley Pup, Monumental Sports Network is bringing together the excitement of hockey and the cuteness of puppies for a program that is sure to be a hit with viewers. Don’t miss out on this unique and heartwarming competition that celebrates the bond between man’s best friend and the sport of hockey.
