DC Power FC Makes Major Signings Ahead of Inaugural USL Super League Season
Washington, DC – DC Power Football Club has made significant moves in preparation for their debut season in the USL Super League by announcing the signings of defender Susanna Friedrichs, center back Amber DiOrio, and midfielder Katrina Guillou. The trio of players, all with ties to the area, are pending league and federation approval but are set to bolster Power FC’s roster for the upcoming season.
Head Coach Frédéric Brillant expressed his excitement about the new additions, highlighting the experience and talent that each player brings to the team. Guillou, in particular, was praised for her international experience and attacking prowess, while DiOrio’s defensive skills and success with Pumas in Mexico were noted. Friedrichs, who has played in Italy and Iceland, is expected to strengthen the team’s backline.
Club President Jordan Stuart also emphasized the local connections of the new signings, with Friedrichs and DiOrio hailing from the Richmond, VA area and Guillou growing up in the DMV. Stuart highlighted Guillou’s achievements on the international stage, including representing the Philippines in the Women’s World Cup.
Friedrichs, a native of Henrico, VA, joins Power FC after a successful season in Iceland, while DiOrio, from Gainesville, VA, brings her experience from playing with Pumas Women in Mexico. Guillou, who grew up in Ft. Washington, MD, has played professionally in Europe and represented the Philippines at the international level.
