Hooters Closes Dozens of Locations Across the Nation
Hooters, the popular casual dining chain known for its wings, is the latest in a string of restaurants to announce closures across the nation. With over 40 locations shutting down, the Atlanta-based business cited “pressure from current market conditions” as the reason for the closures.
One of the locations on the chopping block is the Hooters restaurant in Manassas, Virginia, located at 8503 Rixlew Lane. Additionally, the only Hooters restaurant in Maryland on the closure list is on Light Street in Baltimore.
Despite the closures, Hooters reassured customers that its 41-year-old brand remains “highly resilient and relevant.” The company stated, “We look forward to continuing to serve our guests at home, on the go, and at our restaurants here in the U.S. and around the globe.”
This news comes on the heels of Red Lobster closing over 90 locations last month, including two in Northern Virginia, before filing for bankruptcy. The restaurant industry continues to face challenges as the pandemic and changing consumer preferences impact dining habits.
