Odd Burger Expanding Vegan Fast-Food Chain to Washington State

Odd Burger, a Canadian vegan fast-food chain, is set to make its mark in the state of Washington with plans to open 20 locations in the next eight years. This expansion comes as part of a franchise development agreement with 5th Group Holdings Ltd. (5GH), marking Odd Burger’s first foray into the United States.

Founded in 2016 in London, Ontario, Odd Burger is known for its vegan takes on classic fast-food favorites. The chain gained attention for becoming the first publicly traded vegan fast-food chain in the world and for operating a 24-hour drive-thru, a rarity in the vegan fast-food industry.

The menu at Odd Burger features a variety of items, including the Famous Burger (a vegan version of McDonald’s Big Mac), the Vopper (a vegan take on Burger King’s Whopper), and “chickUN” sandwiches in different flavors. The chain also offers breakfast sandwiches, onion rings, milkshakes, wraps, and more.

James McInnes, CEO and co-founder of Odd Burger, expressed excitement about entering the American market, with Washington being the first state to welcome the chain. The company is also looking to expand to other states across the US and has plans to open franchise locations in India and Singapore.

Odd Burger is not the only vegan fast-food chain making waves in the US. Plant Power Fast Food, based in San Diego, offers its own plant-based versions of American fast-food classics, while comedian Kevin Hart has launched his own vegan chain called Hart House.

With the rise of plant-based eating and the demand for more sustainable food options, vegan fast-food chains like Odd Burger and others are challenging traditional fast-food giants and reshaping the industry. Stay tuned for more updates on the growing trend of vegan fast-food options.
