Young Woman Found Dead in Car with Gunshot Wounds in Dale City, VA
The quiet neighborhood of Dale City, Virginia was rocked by a tragic shooting early Friday morning that left 23-year-old Egypt Zapporah Carter of Burlington, North Carolina dead. Police responded to a report of a shooting on Brickwood Drive and Bronson Court just after 2 a.m. and found Carter suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound inside her vehicle.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Carter was sitting in her car with her small mix breed dog when she was fatally shot. Thankfully, the dog was unharmed in the incident and has been taken into the care of Animal Control Officers.
The Prince William County Police Department has launched a homicide investigation into the shooting, which is still ongoing. It is unclear at this time whether Carter was a resident of the area or just visiting.
