U.S. News & World Report Releases 2024 Rankings of Best High Schools, Virginia Institution in Top 15
The U.S. News & World Report has released its latest rankings of the nation’s best high schools, and a Virginia institution continues to shine in the top 15. Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Fairfax County has maintained its position as the 14th best school in the United States, despite controversial changes to its admissions policy in 2021.
The annual ranking from U.S. News and World Report aims to provide parents with valuable information about a school’s academic performance and whether it is the right fit for their student. This year, out of 24,000 public schools across the country, three schools in the DMV area made it to the top 100.
In addition to Thomas Jefferson High School, The School Without Walls in Washington D.C. ranked at #68, and Benjamin Banneker Academic High School in D.C. ranked at #96. These schools were recognized for their diverse student populations and high academic standards.
Overall, the top three best schools in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region were School Without Walls High School, Benjamin Banneker Academic High School, and Basis D.C. These schools were commended for their commitment to excellence in education.
